His practice transforms postmodern textiles—fragments of bed linens, antique newspapers, and discarded fabrics—into visually and conceptually rich „technofossils.“ These petrified textiles serve as metaphors for the Anthropocene, immortalizing traces of human consumption while evoking questions about materiality, memory, and sustainability. My focus is on my „Textilstein®“ (textile stone) works, which form the core theme of my art. In my works I transform postmodern materials into contemporary art or Anthropocene gemstones.

I am particularly proud of my series called “Sedimental,” which embodies the layering of memories. I transform old bed linen into „Textilstein®“ (textile stone) and arrange them so that they are reminiscent of sedimentary layers of rock.

 Another central theme of my work is rebirth and the pursuit of infinity in the language of textiles.

In my work the focus is always on color and aesthetics. The colors are created by combining different colored materials, which unfold their full effect in the eye of the beholder. What particularly distinguishes my work with „Textilstein“ is the hardness of the material, which is reminiscent of stone, and at the same time the surface, which is given a clearly textile character through processing and therefore appears velvety and soft.

My work brings a unique perspective on the transformation of materials and the beauty of textiles in contemporary art.

Textilstein®

2022:Ich versteinere Textilien und bearbeite diese im Anschluss ähnlich wie Stein. Das Ergebnis und die Technik nenne ich Textilstein. Ein Gesamtkonzept meiner Arbeit ist die Transformation von postmodernen Materialien (alten Textilien) in Zeitgenössische Kunst oder Zeitgenössischen Edelsteine.(„Anthropozän“ menschliche Einfluss auf geologische Prozesse der Erde.)

2017:In meinem künstlerischen Schaffen beschäftige ich mich neben grafischen Arbeiten, Fotografie, ortspezifischen Installationen, Skulpturen und dem experimentieren mit verschiedener Materialien hauptsächlich mit dem Thema „Textilstein“. „Textilstein“ ist ein eigens entwickeltes Material, mit welchen ich die Grenzen des Mediums Textil in der Bildenden Kunst neu setzen möchte. Mit einem Zusammenspiel aus plastischer und bildhafter Auseinandersetzung mit dem Material Textil findet der „Textilstein“ seinen Platz auf dieser Schnittstelle. Durch spezielle Bearbeitung und Technik ist die Haptik samtig und die Oberfläche lässt aus der Entfernung an Stucco lustro erinnern. Erst eine Berührung macht das textile Material begreiflich. Der „Textilstein“ ist frei von Lösungsmitteln, ungiftig und wird ohne Kunstharze hergestellt.
